After graduating from university, I worked as a programmer for a Switzerland-based company in a Germany Branch. I developed business systems, web systems, and mobile applications for European car and luxury watchmakers. After returning to Japan, I became independent and established Grune Co., Ltd. I set up development centers in Asia such as Yogyakarta and Bali, Indonesia.
My hobbies are surfing, hiking, and snowboarding. I want to create an environment where I can enjoy IT development while traveling to mountains and beaches around the world. My mission is to let Grune members work and play to the fullest and enjoy their lives.

I started my Internship in Bali in May 2019. All members welcomed me warmly. They are full of energetic young teams with an average age of 26 years old and the manager was only 29 years old at that time. The working environment was efficient. It had few bureaucracy with direct communication methods between all members and it was very much result-oriented. This structure gives all members the chance to bring in the best of their individual skill-set, capability of cooperation and teamwork in a dynamic working environment. I also was amazed by the level of self-organization. It made my experience in Grune very unique and insightful. In addition,Grune has fascinating international projects. Thus, all members can constantly improve their skills, face new challenges, and to grow professionally. There are great opportunities to step up the career compared to traditional big companies. I believe that Grune has the potential to grow significantly in the next 5 years.
During my internship, I contributed to the improvement of task management and designed a process-map based on the operational structure of Grune. A process map helps the collaboration of the different offices and shows the transparency of the working process. It also helps the adaptation of newly hired members. I implemented what I learned from the lectures in Project Management and Human Resources in my second and third semester in my university.
I really enjoyed my time in Bali. After working hours, I often went to see the sunset at Batu Bolong beach in Canggu area with a nice cold drink. I also learned how to surf. During the weekend, I like to travel around Bali by motorcycle and enjoy the rice paddy view, various cultural events, and beautiful scenery. An unforgettable experience for example when I hiked to the top of Mount Batur in Kintamani with all members to see the sunrise. It was a bonding experience to share with your coworkers. Besides Bali, I also had a chance to travel to Grune's Office in Yogyakarta and visit other islands like Sumbawa and Gili Trawangan to see the cultural variety of Indonesia. The time I spent during my internship with Grune not only helped me to grow professionally but also very much personally. After having the possibility to live for 4 months in Indonesia's middle-class lifestyle, I learned a lot about the culture and potential of Indonesia as an emerging country.
It was inspiring to see what CEO Grune inc. Yamashita had been created. With a convincing idea of an international hub team, a lot of courage, and hard work, Grune inc. can provide jobs for more than 25 people in Indonesia. It was interesting to observe the interaction between Japan and Indonesia as an “outsider” (no Japanese or Indonesian background). I learned a lot on how to communicate a problem and the way to address it considering the differences in cultural backgrounds. How to avoid miscommunication and make communication easy to understand for everyone.. It was completely far from what I had experienced so far with my life in Europe. I learned that we always gain experience by putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations. I was very glad to have the possibility of working in such an environment in a new country. I learned very much and I will definitely do my best to go back to Bali and visit all the Grune members. I got one of my dreams with Yama to open a Grune office in Europe together then invite interns from Bali and Japan.
