Interview
 Web Developer

Luqman Hakim

Web Developer

Born in Buleleng (North part of Bali, Indonesia), 28 years ago. I studied at a private university in Bali majoring in Information Systems. I worked in web development from a young age after graduating from senior high school. So I was working in IT even before I got a formal education in IT at a university. I learn by myself on the internet and at the office. I like software problem-solving and I think I am quite good at it. I think you need to be confident (not overconfident) when you face a problem, it helps you to prevent mental blocks for solving the issues. You need to be passionate about your work, it will give you patience when you face an obstacle. Besides web development, I love 3D design also and gaming.

Why did you choose Grune?

I saw in job ads that Grune needs a developer for a newly created Bali Office. The team was small and I feel it is a challenging working environment for me to get new knowledge and explore opportunities. I feel also I can contribute more to the growth of the company when we are just a small team. I am interested also in the international working environment because Grune Indonesia is working with developers in Japan.

How is the Grune working atmosphere?

When I joined Grune, we faced some challenging projects at that time. I felt the working atmosphere has pressure. However now, the managers (Both in Indonesia and Japan) do their best to manage the project so members can work at a reasonable pace and I see the members look happier now. So, I think Grune keeps growing to be a professional working space.

What do you think about Japanese Members?

I think Japanese members are kind and supportive. Language differences can be overcome by communicating in English, even if the word choice is not perfect, as long as we understand each other, I think the language barrier is not a big problem.

How is the general manager?

The manager is still young. So the manager can be a good friend to us without losing his role as a manager. He also gives many communication support. Sometimes as a coder, it is a bit difficult for me to explain technical terms that are easy to understand.

In your opinion what is the excellence of Grune?

I think Grune is very open and adaptive to using the latest technology in IT. Like it or not, IT grows very fast so we need to keep update our self. Some company stays in their comfort zone and do not want to evolve. Since I joined Grune, we updated our technology several times such as developing from Laravel to Nuxt Js and Next Js.

Why did you choose the IT field for your career?

I think I love to work on digital technology. I also love problem-solving and in IT, we always face many technical problems. I want with my skills, I can contribute building good services that can help other people`s lives become more convenient in this digitalization era.

What kind of company would you like Grune to be in the future?

I hope Grune keeps becoming a company that always adapts to the latest technology ad other standard tools in IT so members also can always level up their skills.

What is your current responsibility for Grune?

I feel I am kind of a full-stack developer. I worked on various tasks like front-end web development, back-end web development, mobile native apps (Android and iOS), and Unity. I am also happy to assist other developers when they face any problems with their projects.

What is your dream job?

I want to become a professional web developer who works with a professional team with flexible working time.
